Originally from Beijing China, and currently based in Jersey City, Daiqi Cui is an artist specializing in animation and illustration. She started making 2D animation in 2012 and since then has been experimenting with various styles and possibilities within this medium. She directed and made several short films, stop motion and motion graphics. In 2019, she started pursuing her Master’s degree in Computer Arts at the School of Visual Arts. Her most recent multimedia project combines 2D, 3D animation and interactivity, using Maya, TV Paint and Unreal Engine 4. Daiqi Cui is interested in many kinds of arts and gets inspiration from her personal internal experiences. Drawing inspiration from her personal internal experiences, she continues to expand her practice through her bold integration of various media across visual arts and technology.
